Confronting Islam

Defying Death: Zakaria Botross – Apostle to Islam is a biography, written by the former senior pastor of Crossway Baptist Church, of a Coptic Orthodox priest who has had a remarkable ministry challenging muslims by asking questions which no-one else is bold enough to ask. Botross operates a website www.islam-christianity.net which explains issues about Christianity which muslims often find problematic and raises questions about Islam which most muslims have never considered.

Botross began life as a nominal Coptic Christian before as a young man he found himself drawn to the faith, and he committed himself to a calling as a priest. A few years later he had an evangelical experience of Christ, which led him into a series of conflicts with the church authorities. His preaching was engaging, and crowds started flocking to his church, but conflicts with the hierarchy led to him being relocated overseas.

In addition to the Internet ministry, Botross conducts an Arabic television ministry which is broadcast in the Middle East and Europe. Both the website and the television ministry are wildly popular with a muslim audience, because they dare to challenge non-negotiable Islamic doctrine in a respectful and reasoned manner. The book is well worth reading to assist in understanding how to discuss faith issues with the 20% of the world’s population who are muslims.
